Tianjin, a city whose regional development is not balanced, the economy developing, urban construction, development status between each district is extremely unbalanced, which results in the difference of the quantity and quality of public space .All the public spaces are not connected and fragmented. In addition with the development of the city, urban traffic flow is becoming more and more busy and the road is much widened, which leads to the accessibility of those places becoming worse.

Initial Concept
With a core serving as main entry plaza in the center, all accesses are connected. At the same time, I tried to put almost all the rooms underneath and open everywhere within the site to citizens, which means there will not be high builidings aboveground.
Design location is the culture entertainment area in tianjin, which is close to Tianjin museum, Tianjin park, the Grand theatre,Tianjin grand theatre, etc. However, those entertainment areas are seperated by the urban traffic. This design is in an attempt to optimize the architectural design and at the same time, to increase the regional cultural recreation space by strengthening links with the surrounding area.
The main purpose to put the concert hall underground is to creat an public space on the roof for the city.

All the required functions are put together firstly and try to minimize the size and height of all these rooms.
After that, I divide all this functions to five to six parts to match the buildng forms. The biggest part should be the main concert hall and the left parts are for service, rest room, retail and so on.
